I'm still waiting for that miraculous burst of energy that is supposed to come in the 2nd trimester. Anyone seen it? Could you send it my way?
Someone mentioned the other day that all the states had snow. Not in my part of the state. *Sigh* I would like snow. It was cold and rainy all day yesterday but the snow just went on it's merry way. We saw it on the weather map yesterday heading out to sea. Oh well. We had fun. A day at the museum. We were supposed to be cleaning the beach for our Give a Day/Get a Day Disney tickets, but the beach was not the ideal place to be yesterday. The museum, however, was. I hope the guy is able to reschedule us the kids were looking forward to it.
I have been busy planning Karly's sixth grade year to start in September. Yeah. My poor little guinea pig. I have no idea how it's going to work out, but we will jump in with both feet and see where we land.
I signed up for a Bradley Birthing class starting in April. I don't know. I'm super nervous. I will most likely be induced before 40 weeks. I have heard the horror stories of induced child birth. Does not sound like a ton of fun. Bradley, for those who don't know, is a natural childbirth method. Teaching you how to let your body do it's job and not fight the contractions. I have heard that contractions from induction are a lot worse then regular contractions. I am going to the Bradley classes to try to empower myself. We'll see.
Next week we go for another sonogram. There will also be a fetal echo cardiogram. So far her heart has sounded great at my weekly OB appts. I just hope that it looks great as well. They will also be checking her organs and other stuff. I pray everything is where it should be and working properly.
Well, that's my random update. I hope you all are doing well.
Be Blessed!
Julie,
ReplyDeleteI have been pregnant eight times, although only five of my blessings are with me...three are with the Lord. Your lack of "motivation" is more than likely mainly hormonal. I remember when I was pregnant with my second child. I told the doctor how much more tired I was and it how different this pregancy was...I just seemed to get more tired each pregnancy. He reminded me that the difference is that I had more children each pregnancy and my body wasn't getting the rest it was able to when I had no children and pregnant. You have five beautiful children, are homeschooling, and pregnant! The fact that you keep plugging away with school is a great start. Take it easy. More energy should come...but remember, you are still a Mama of five so it may not be the same as those of other people. Rest as often as you can and get your refreshment from the Word. All those things around the house will be waiting for you when you feel more energetic. God bless you, Jackie
well, I was doing well with energy and still do most days but I am fast approaching the third trimester and sometimes I have no desire to function. I recommend a rest and small meals that are healthy :)
ReplyDeleteJulie,
ReplyDeleteThis is Barbara (from Beautiful Womanhood message board). I have not been out to your blog in ages and was wonderfully surprise to hear that you are expecting! I am so happy for you! Congratulations!
Julie- I'm responing to this and the previous post at once.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're getting a handle on the insulin, snacking and such. Low blood sugar crashes are no fun. Hate that feeling. My night time snack with GD was a scoop of chocolate carb smart 'icecream' and a scoop of peanut butter. :-)
It drove me crazy to be losing weight in pregnancy due to the diabetic diet. so counter intuitive.
Have you found this site? http://www.plus-size-pregnancy.org/gd/gd_index.html It's for GD but might be helpful.
Inducement- it is more painful. I was armed with information from midwives AND ACOG to fight inducement for my last birth, and was told the protocol had changed- if sugars are controlled and all looks well, they'll let you go upto a week past due date! Praise God!
I would have loved to take Bradley, but it wasn't available, so I took hypnobirthing. Hokey hypnosis stuff, but helped nonetheless. I need to move around more than Bradley teaches though.
Tiredness: everybody's different and most women aren't mother to 5 when pregnant for the first time. Cut yourself some slack. :-)
Julie,
ReplyDeleteI've been so unmotivated this pregnancy. At about 17 weeks I had a day of so much energy and focus and I said to myself, "Here we go! Second trimester nesting!" The next day I could barely get out of bed.
So, please don't feel bad about it. It's all part and parcel to this wonderful journey of pregnancy.
Hi. My name is Sara and I have been reading for awhile. Congratulations on your pregnancy. I just wanted to tell you that induction is not all that bad. I had three labors naturally and then my last one was induced. My water had broken and nothing started so they gave me pitocin. It was not as bad as I had heard because I only let them increase it every 40 minutes instead of every 20 minutes. At the end they wanted to keep increasing, but I told them not to as I knew I was in true labor. Just wanted to let you know that my experience was not excrutiating but it was a great labor.
