Merry Christmas

Is this not the best Christmas idea ever??
I gleaned it from Dollar Stretcher.
Give envelopes with a gift a month. For example:
One month could be for a night at the movies.
One month could be for lunch out.
One month could be for a trip to the park.
You get the idea.
Fantastic idea.
Just wanted to share that idea with ya'll.
What are some other ideas for an inexpensive Christmas? What would you include in your envelope a month?
Be Blessed!

  1. I think the Gift a Month idea is great! One year my husband gave me a coupon booklet of "Daddy Daycare Dollars". It was one of the best gifts I've ever received.

For Christmas our kids like to buy gifts for one another but it can become expensive. I decided to have them shop at the dollar store. All 5 kids get to buy a present for their siblings and it doesn't break the bank. (My husband and I choose the larger gifts at other stores.) The kids also make homemade gifts for one another.

Another thing I like to do is catch the clearance sales after Christmas. We put the gifts in a box and keep them for birthday parties throughout the year.

  2. I stumbled onto your blog from Connie's...and glad I did! Neat place you have here!

I love the envelope per month gift idea, and I just happened to post on a frugal gift idea today on my blog and was asking for others input as well. Glad I found yours today!

I think in a couple of the envelopes I would have...

    *Your choice of dinner
    *Game night of your choice!
*Schedule a treasure hunt to find a prize...can't wait to think of some more! Thanks for sharing!

    Blessings to you and yours,
    Katie

  5. I have a many childen and a large immediate family we al live very connected (actually almost door to door) I really love your idea's on this one, I love gifts being given from our unique selves, however let me leave this with you ...poverty is a mind set and so is fufillment, let us lead them into that mind set, that they will be blessed many times over and overfilled often.
